Why We LOVE Mandelic Acid!!!
Posted on 4 February, 2018 at 0:55 |
Â
"This gentle, yet POWERFUL alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) is effective in treating a large range of common skin conditions and laser treatments. Mandelic Acid is derived from bitter ALMONDS. Studies have shown that mandelic acid is successful in suppressing pigmentation, treating cystic acne, and rejuvenating the overall appearance of the skin. Not only does this beautiful acid help brighten the skin but it is also functional in prepping the skin for laser peeling, and helps minimize the risk of micro bacteria growing on the skin after surgery. ( Ask your aesthetician, nurse, doctor for this phenomenal treatment before and after any invasive treatment!)
Â
We could go on and on about how amazing this treatment is, but for now here are a few reasons why we LOVE mandelic acid:
Â
Diminishes fine lines and wrinkles improve with just ONE treatment.
Controls pigment and lightens dark pigment (VERY effective in treating
Great treatment for non-inflammatory cystic acne
Laser Resurfacing pre/post treatment
Mandelic Acid peels in combination with VITAMINS have multiple benefits that include antibacterial effects, improvement of photoaged skin, acne, abnormal pigmentation control, and skin texture. Another added bonus of our beloved mandelic acid is that it is SAFE ON ALL SKIN TYPES!
Â
Happy peeling!

The Anatomy Of A Peel

Â
"Chemical peels are used to help improve the over all texture and appearance of the skin, as well as treating specific skin conditions. The most common skin conditions that are treated with peels are acne, hyperpigmentation, and aging skin. The most important two factors to consider when doing a chemical peel is the depth of penetration and the acids that are being introduced to the peel.
Â
Superficial peels are typically done to achieve a micro-exfoliation that will help the skin look smoother and more even in skin color. A superficial peel is ideal for all skin types, it is also ideal for a person who is doing a peel for the first time.
Â
Medium peels are a bit more invasive and with medium depth peels you will obtain a peeling effect that may last for up to 7-8 days. These peels are done as a more aggressive anti-aging treatment or for specific skin conditions.
Â
Deep peels are invasive treatments that have a downtime of 1-2 days and a peeling of 8-10 days. These peels are typically done under medical supervision. These peels are typically done ONLY on Fitzpatrick I-II skin types. Darker skin types may have adverse effects, such as post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Â
Chemical peels use single acids and combination acids to help improve and nourish the skin. Just as important as the depth of the peel, so is the type of acid that is being used. Acids can be in pure form , but have different concentrations and may also be combined. The most popular acids that are being used by aestheticians are Glycolic Acid, Mandelic Acid, Lactic Acid, and Salicylic Acid. These single acid peels help with different skin types, and are great peels that will help prep the skin for a more invasive peel. Combination acid peels are done for very specific skin conditions such as hyperpigmentation, acne, and dehydration. They are also great to treat body conditions such as stretch marks and cellulite.
Â
When used properly chemical peels can rejuvenate and improve client/patients skin problems. Chemical peels are awesome and we love them, especially Mandelic Acid peels (which you already know how much we love!), Glycolic, and also our combination acid peels like the Bio-C peel that has Lactobionic Acid, Mandelic Acid, and Glycolic Acid.

What is this dark spot/patch on my face?
Posted on 1 February, 2018 at 17:15 |
![]() |
'' Hyperpigmentation, Melasma - Those annoying dark spots on your face and on your body caused by an overproduction of melanin.
Â
There are different types of hyperpigmentation such as freckles (aka Sun Spots, Age Spots) that appear as we get older due to overexposure to the sun.
Â
Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation, which is cause by skin injuries from acne, burns, cuts, or psoriasis. PIH is the easiest form hyperpigmentation to treat.
Â
Melasma, those dark patches that seem to never go away! Commonly known as pregnancy mask, caused by hormonal changes. Pregnancy, birth control, hormone replacement therapy, or thyroid dysfunction in conjunction with sun exposure cause these dark patches.
Â
What Causes This?
Genetics- Some are luckier than others! Some individuals, due to genetics and hereditary background are predisposed to this condition.
Â
Hormonal Changes- Hormonally triggered hyperpigmentation is more prevalent in women as a result of birth control and pregnancy side effects.
Â
Age- Sun exposure from as little as your daily commute in the car to laying out on a hot summer day triggers melanin production
Â
Minor Injuries- burns, cuts, post acne scars, and scratches can lead to changes in coloration during the healing cycle of the skin.
Â
Can I prevent hyperpigmentation?
Yes! There are numerous ways to prevent hyperpgmentation! First and foremost is to limit sun exposure. If you can’t resist a beautiful beach day make sure you have your SPF readily available to reapply throughout your day so that you can stay protected. Wearing a chic hat also helps to block your face from direct sunlight, and you will look FAB!
Â
Wear SPF daily! Even if you aren’t lounging by the pool, your daily commute in the car is enough exposure to cause a change in your skin.
Â
Treatment-
If you are already trying to treat hyperpigmentation and melasma you can try different treatments that range from light scrubs to in-depth treatments. We LOVE Mandelic Acid with a series of 3 to 6 peels you will notice lightening of your dark pigment. Reason that we LOVE Mandelic Acid is that the molecule is a lot larger than any other aesthetic acid making it a more gentle acid that also has a brightening effect on the skin.
Â
Using a cream that has an abundant amount of enzymes such as Kojic Acid, Licorice Extract, and Arbutin, helps to brighten and lighten the skin! Hyperpigmentation , Post Inflamatory Hyperpigmentation, & Melasma may be bothersome, and aesthetically unpleasant, but with a little precaution and effective treatments you will be on your way to gorgeous brighter skin! Ultimate Eye Corrector

"Tired eyes, we have all experienced this look and we can all agree it’s not cute!
Â
There are different factors that contribute to dark circles and wrinkles such as poor sleep and our genes. Lucky for us there are also treatments that range from eye creams to pulsed light therapy that can help diminish the appearance of imperfections in the orbital area.
Â
Dark circles emerge because there is a loss of volume of fat under the eyes, thinning under the eye area, and bulging under eye fat. Our lifestyle will directly how our skin looks, by simply changing our habits, getting sleep, and using an eye cream we can begin to reverse the signs of aging. Typical lifestyle choices that can impact the appearance of our eyes are smoking, caffeine, alcohol consumption, and hyperpigmentation which may be caused by excessive UV damage. All of these are lifestyle choices that we are in control of, but there are also factors that we may not be able to control such as hormone induced pigment, genetics, and genetic conditions.
Â
How can we fix it?
Â
Changing lifestyle habits is the number one way to help diminish the appearance of dark circles, but getting an eye peel such as the Ultimate Eye Corrector will help to get rid of those tired eyes and brighten your windows to your soul! The Ultimate Eye Corrector is specifically formulated to treat the orbital area without causing severe irritation. The active ingredients of mandelic acid, lactic acid, retinol, and salicylic acid help to exfoliate, hydrate, and rejuvenate the area gradually. Because the eye area is so delicate we always want to approach this area in a conservative fashion. The treatment is for five weeks and requires an eye cream that was formulated to work synergistically with the Ultimate Eye Corrector. The Eye Revitalizer is a peptide powerhouse that will help to stimulate collagen production around the orbital area. We love this treatment! If the protocol is followed properly it will change the appearance of the eyes making your orbital area brighter and reawakened.

What is micro needling?
Posted on 1 February, 2018 at 17:10 |
![]() |
"Microneedling is currently a skin industry HOT TOPIC. There are sizes that typically range from .02 mm all the way to 2.5mm. Any needle size that is less than .3mm is considered a cosmetic instrument that is used to help product penetrate deeper into the skin. A needling device that is .3mm or higher will allow product to penetrate into the skin and also produce Collagen, which we know is a MUST for beautiful skin! This method is a beautiful natural way to help with skin rejuvenation, improve the appearance of acne scars and stretch marks! Depending on the needle size it can either be done by an aesthetician, nurse, or MD.
Â
Although the world NEEDLE tends to frighten some of us this treatment is not as invasive as lasers, deep peels, or surgery. Microneedling creates micro channels without removing the entire hydralipoic layer of the skin, which minimizes the risk of post treatment bacteria growing on the epidermis.
Â
Microneedling can be done using various modalities such as the a pen, stamp, and rollers. All of these methods are safe to use and can be done on the face and the body.
Â
We are RAVING FANS of Microneedling because this all natural treatment is beneficial for a multitude of skin conditions and safe with minimal down time.

When To Begin Using Anti-Aging Treatments?
Posted on 1 February, 2018 at 17:05 |
![]() |
"We often get asked, "When should I begin using anti-aging treatments and creams?"
Â
The answer is now. We recommend introducing antioxidants to the skin at an early age starting from 20 and up. I must stress it is never too late to begin using anti aging products. I have broken down the typical skin concerns by age group. I hope that this helps you on your quest of finding the right anti-aging home care treatment as well as the adequate professional treatments to offer your clients.
Â
Stage One (20-30)
Â
Due to increase in skin oxidation and free radical damage the skin will begin to appear dull, and minimal signs of sun damage will begin to appear. There is also an increase in loss of water, reduction of amino acids and protein levels which will show first expression lines. The best solution for this age group is mesoestetics Energy C line and the Bio-C Peel. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that helps improve the tone and texture of the skin, ideal in treating 20-30 year olds.
Â
Stage Two (30-40)
Â
At this stage we will see a reduction in the fibroblast function causing loss of collagen and elastin production which will result in a thinning of the skin. There is also a reduction of skin structural elements which support skin strength and health which will cause and increased depth of wrinkles. The key ingredient for this age group is Collagen and introducing Retinol into your/ your clients’ regimen! The ideal retinol cream is Age Rescue; the active ingredients Lactobionic Acid, Glycolic Acid, and Lactic Acid help target imperfections in aging that best suit this age group. We recommend the mesoestetic Collagen 360 intensive cream to help build up collagen production in the skin. We also highly recommend microneedling to help stimulate the fibroblast, using a needling infusion such as Snap 6-7-8 that is a peptide powerhouse will help the appearance of wrinkles and the formation of more expression lines.
Â
Stage Three (40-50)
Â
Decrease in cell renewal, the cell has now entered the mature stage which results in reduction of skin elasticity and firmness. Deterioration of the epidermis and connective tissue will result in deep wrinkles, dehydration, and volume loss. Our main target is to stimulate cell renewal so introducing active ingredients like retinol, epidermal growth factors, and glycolic acids are essential in treating this age group. We highly recommend the Innoaesthetic Glyco-Age Peel that helps stimulate epidermal cell renewal. For awesome homecare maintenance we recommend Age Rescue to help further cell renewal at home. The mesoestetic Stem Cell line is full of active growth factors that will help strengthen and thicken the epidermis.
Â
Stage Four (50+)
Â
During this stage the intercellular junction is depleted; there is a reduction of the metabolic function of the skin glands which results in loss of definition and facial contour, skin fragility, and very deep wrinkles. Our main focus is increasing the life of the cell, strengthening the skin, and aiding in cellular renewal. We highly recommend Vitamin Infusions using the Innoaesthetic Vitamin Complex or the mesoestetic Bio Flash infusion via microneedling. The mesoestetic DNA treatment has been formulated for this specific age group. It is ideal in reversing the signs of aging. We have seen optimal results when the DNA ampoule is infused via microneedling or oxygen therapy.
Â
We hope this helps you on your anti-aging journey!

The Benefits Of Micro Needling
Posted on 1 February, 2018 at 16:55 |
![]() |
"If you're looking for a way to improve the overall texture and quality of your skin, a newer skin procedure called microneedling may be just what you're looking for. The process of microneedling is a near painless and quick process that can completely alter the look and feel of your skin. Also known as collagen induction therapy, this process will result in firmer, smoother and more youthful looking skin. This procedure induces the production of collagen and also strengthens the epidermis layer of the skin.
Â
While the presence of the word needle can be a bit alarming to some, the process is relatively pain-free. A few pinches and some pressure may be felt the first couple of sessions, but that quickly diminishes. The procedure is done by a specialized wand that includes very fine needle points. When these needles pass over the first layer of skin, they create micro “injuries” that the skin mistakes for real injuries. Thus, this begins the cycle of triggering new collagen production, as well as elastin, to fill the microscopic injury.
Â
Many different skin issues can be rectified and treated via this particular skin care procedure. If you are suffering from signs of aging, sagging skin or fine lines, the stimulation of collagen and elastin will help to reduce the appearances of these issues. For those who deal with various levels of scarring, microneedling is the perfect antidote as it breaks down old tissue and promotes the production of elastin and collagen, helping to fade troublesome marks, age spots, and scarring. It's even been shown to work incredibly well on stretch marks which are notoriously difficult to treat.
Â
Also a preventative treatment, as it thwarts the formation of new wrinkles and fine lines. This is due to collagen breakdown contributing heavily to the visible signs of aging. When used in conjunction with corrective and nourishing skin serums, this process can promote a more youthful, glowing complexion. Through the accelerated shedding of the top layer of skin and the dead skin cells that aren't eliminated from in home skin care regimens, microneedling can transform the way your skin looks and feels.
Â
If you struggle with acne, this process can prove to be very helpful as microneedling naturally boosts the absorption and efficiency of the products you're already using to treat your blemishes. It's important to note that professional skin care experts will microneedle around any active blemishes and not across them to prevent the spreading of bacteria.
Â
Microneedling is a safe, easy and efficient way to treat common skin issues in a quick and fuss free manner. If you're looking for a process that will effectively target troublesome skin problems, trying microneedling is a fantastic option."

DERMAPLANING

"Are you looking for an exfoliation treatment that is quick, painless, and involves absolutely no downtime? Dermaplaning is a safe method for exfoliating and removing old dead skin cells from the outermost layer of your skin. With this simple procedure, our Beauty Insiders are achieving a smoother, clearer, and softer appearance.
Â
Dermaplaning is a painless procedure that uses a sterile surgical blade to gently scrape away dead and old skin cells, therefore unclogging pores. This noninvasive treatment exfoliates as well as removes unwanted facial hair and peach fuzz. When the outermost layer of the skin sloughs off, a new clearer and healthier layer is revealed. This newly resurfaced area is dirt, hair, and oil-free, leaving a smooth and bright complexion.
Â
Benefits
Â
Clearer skin
Peach fuzz free
Removes dead skin cells
No downtime
Noninvasive
Quick and painless
Anti-aging
It is uncommonly known that facial hair can trap dust and dirt to your face causing breakouts and blemishes. Removing this peach fuzz can greatly improve your complexion because bacteria can get trapped and thrive beneath the strands of hair. Bacterias that cause acne accumulate in low oxygenated places, such as the area around the hair follicles, where they can multiply and grow.
Â
Our licensed aesthetician will gently glide the scalpel across the skin at a 45-degree angle. This Dermaplaning technique boosts cellular turnover, reduces ingrown hairs, prevents acne, and removes dust particles that have been collected over time for a hairless and soft skin texture. Furthermore, this treatment is great paired with other medical aesthetic procedures."

ROSACEA

Do you have ROSACEA?
Â
Rosacea is a chronic and progressive disorder that may first be noticed as redness on the cheeks, nose, chin or forehead that comes and goes. There are different stages of rosacea, the first of which often manifest in form of frequent blushing or flushing. The second stage appears as a continuous reddening of the skin and the third stage is a deep, persistent redness often accompanied by dilated veins around the nose. While the cause of rosacea is officially unknown and there is no cure for it, early diagnosis prevents the disorder from developing to stage three and allows it to be more easily managed. Because rosacea stems from a systemic disorder, signs appear on the skin and can avoid developing into further stages when addressed with targeted, gentle anti-inflamatory, anti-bacterial and skin-strengthening ingredients and treatments.
Rosacea require a personalized approach to fit the exact needs of your skin. Your goal is to reduce redness, inflammation and excessive mites while strengthening the skin. This is achieved primarily through the use of "rosacea friendly" ingredients and certain facials, peels and techniques that increase overall circulation, such as oxygen applications and stimulating the lymphatic system. Since most rosacea skin is AHA sensitive, BHAs, mandelic acid, bromelain, milk proteins and retinols are good choices for the treatment room. Also great benefits can be obtained from a series of anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and nutrient-rich facials. Peels can be helpful since they stimulate new cell growth, collagen and elastin, and kick inflammatory receptors into overdrive.
La Cherry Luxury Medical Aesthetics LLC offers best quality Aesthetician rosacea treatments and a variety of other types of treatments. BIO C PEEL is a treatment that combines action of different gentle acids to gain improved epidermal hydration, reinforced by the impermeable film of topical hyaluronic acid and the anti-oxidant and keratinocyte-protecting actions of vitamin C.
